Overview

The Deep Search feature in the Watch application allows you to perform comprehensive searches inside the videos. This help page will guide you on how to enable Deep Search for a watch and how to customize its behavior using the available configuration parameters.

Enabling Deep Search for a Watch

To enable Deep Search for a specific watch, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the "Basic Details Configuration" page of the watch you want to enable Deep Search for.

  2. Look for the "Deep Search" option on the page.

  3. Toggle the switch to turn on Deep Search for this watch.

  4. Remember to save the changes to apply Deep Search to the watch.

Customizing Deep Search Behavior

Deep Search Types

Deep Search Types allow you to define the video metadata types that will be used in the Deep Search for searching inside videos. By default, Deep Search uses the following video metadata - People, Brands, Transcript, Text (OCR), and Custom Tags, which can be turned on or off.

To customize the Deep Search Types, do the following:

  1. Navigate to the "Watch Configuration Advanced" page from the administrative dashboard.

  2. Locate the "Deep Search Types" section on the page.

  3. Select or deselect the items you want to include or exclude from the Deep Search results.

  4. Save the changes to apply the custom Deep Search Types.

The following screenshots illustrate a watch, which is configured with Deep Seach Types containing Transcript option only.

Deep Search Redirect

Deep Search Redirect allows you to specify a Deep Search tab that will be opened when a user clicks on a deep search tag on the Video Search page.

By default, Deep Search opens a Playlist Tab. To set up another option (Deep Search Tab), follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Watch Configuration Advanced page.

  2. Find the Deep Search Redirect section on the page.

  3. Choose the Deep Search Tab.

  4. Save the changes to apply the custom Deep Search Redirect.
