Creating & embedding a playlist
Updated over a week ago

Create a Playlist

  1. In Studio enter the Playlist tab, Select a Hub, and click Add button for a new playlist.

  2. Enter a name for your playlist.

  3. Optional: Enter the article page URL (the URL is optional and only required if the AnyClip player is already embedded in your pages).

  4. Select the video player for this playlist from the list.

  5. Click + Create Playlist at the bottom of the dialog box to create the playlist.

Adding Videos to the Playlist

Select a playlist in the Playlist tab, click the Add to playlist icon (highlighted below) on each video you’d like to add.

  1. Click the Add to playlist icon (highlighted below) on each video you'd like to add to the playlist or drag-and-drop them from the video search results to the playlist.

  2. You can also delete a video from the playlist by clicking the recycle bin button to the right of each playlist video thumbnail.

  3. The playlist is enabled by default, however, you can disable it using the toggle. This is especially useful when working on a longer playlist and when the player is already embedded on the website. If you're working on a new playlist that isn't yet embedded on the website, you can enable it at any stage.

  4. If the AnyClip player’s embed code is already injected into the article, you should be able to see the playlist on your page. Otherwise, do the following:

    1. Get the Embed code and add it to an article to your CMS.

    2. Click the .. (ellipsis menu) in the top right corner of the playlist.

    3. Click Embed. A pop-up will be displayed with the Embed code.

Changing the Player

You may need to change the player of a playlist. This may happen if the selected player’s aspect ratio and/or geography don’t match the video or page.

  1. Open the Playlist tab.

  2. Find a playlist and open it for editing.

  3. Select a new player in the dropdown list. The playlist will be saved automatically.

Note

If the URL has multiple playlists of different players, each player will be displayed. Click the one that you'd like to edit.

AI Playlists

The content of the playlist can be static (if the editor chooses video for the playlist one by one) or/and dynamic.

Dynamic content can be generated by AnyClip artificial intelligence engine with AI blocks according to the filters, set for the AI block, and the required number of videos to deliver.

The following kinds of AI blocks can be created per a playlist:

  • Recent videos – gets the latest uploaded videos

  • Trending videos – gets the most trending videos (based on views/likes/shares in the last 24-36 hours)

These blocks can be added to the playlist with the buttons on top of the playlists (highlighted below).

The following playlist contains the Recent videos AI block in the beginning, configured with filters by people (Kate Brown) and video Language (English), so the playlist will deliver not more than 5 English-language videos containing Kate Brown ordered by their Creation date.

Note

The playlists used as a fallback in player configurations can't have AI blocks inside.

Such playlists are marked with fallback playlist icons (see #2 on the picture below) and have AI block buttons disabled.
